Smart Competer: Every kilowatt-hour consumed at the wrong time places a burden on the environment. Managing consumption more intelligently is the unique selling point of smart meters, which have been widely implemented. However, fully leveraging their potential to meet the steadily increasing demand for electricity — especially in light of climate goals — is hindered by the abstract nature of energy consumption and the lack of data.
Our solution: Through gamification and nudging, we create a reward system for smart meters. Users can earn “Sparks” by completing daily tasks or participating in weekly and monthly challenges. These “Sparks” serve as a currency and can be exchanged for products such as small solar panels, personalized shirts from local artists, or discounts from energy providers.
